Le Moulin de Caillier
in Charente is a former mill house on the bank of the Charente river. It is the residential centre for Humanum. Caillier welcomes individuals and groups of up to nine people.
The work of Humanum starts with the fundamental development questions:
Where have I come from?
Where am I now?
Where am I headed?
What do I need to become and do to get there?
How will I know when I’ve got there?
It is essential for leaders to know, ‘what is it like to be on the receiving end of me?’ To learn this leaders must face into themselves. They must gain sharp insight into how they are and who they are in every conversation they have. They must be able to navigate complex adaptive systems and understand how to create synergy and recognise interdependencies. They must be able to handle conflict with creativity and wisdom. They must learn to turn spontaneous judgements into curiosity. Above all they must know themselves, including their defences, and learn to hold compassion for themselves and offer empathy to others.
This work starts with becoming still, with noticing more acutely. Time at Caillier allows the space to engage in this work in an environment of beauty and serenity. Participants at Caillier can expect to find strong support and stretching challenge.
